February
![]()
'Tis the season that love is supposed to abound in the air, in the movies and in everything you see or touch. I am not certain why Valentine's Day happens in February (I am sure there is a history somewhere), except every female cat of the species, that is able, comes into heat. Do you think that has anything to do with it?

Love. I have been told, there is a chubby little Angel (called a cherub), flying about searching for someone to "shoot" with his little bow and arrow. Being on the receiving end of the arrow is not supposed to cause discomfort, but leave a soft glow and a warm heart. Everyone needs to be in love or be cared about. Everyone needs someone to care for. Very few of us were designed to sustain alone. Look around. People are brought to us for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. It is up to you to know the difference between the three and know which ones apply to you. Life, your life, is what you make it...........
The Breeders Box: Ringworm seems to have reared it's ugly head once again. Be cautious if you are adding a new baby to your Cattery/home. The side breeder will isolate a kitten for a few days. But if it has been exposed to ringworm, incubation can take as long as 21 day to "whow." A wiser breeder will invest in a small black light and take it to look at a new kitten with. If the seller is offended , simply explain it's not that you question the breeder, it is that you have 20 others already at home and ringworm can shut down your Cattery/breeding program for months as well as the medical expense involved. The absolute best remedy on the market at this point in time is still Sporanox. It is wildly expensive, but it does work, and nearly instantly. Remember too, if you find so much as a single spot on a cat or kitten already in your cattery, treat everyone.
If you insist on taking home that kitten which does already have, or been exposed to ringworm, simply isolate and treat with the Sporanox. Within two weeks, the ringworm is rendered inert and cannot be transferred to another cat.
